Why I Started Guts Glory Games

So here we are.

This is Guts Glory Games: an indie dev studio run by exactly one human (me), fueled entirely by energy drinks, sarcasm, and the deep-seated belief that boring games are a crime against humanity. No boardrooms, no buzzwords, and absolutely no quarterly projections; just code, chaos, and a dream. I didn’t start this because I wanted to be a millionaire. I started it because I’m sick of soulless titles with 14 pre-order editions and a roadmap that’s basically a PDF full of lies. If I wanted to be lied to with fancy graphics, I’d just watch political ads.

“Games should feel like a punchline with a body count—not a subscription service.”

🧨 What I’m Building

Exploding skyline
This is fine. Everything is exploding as planned.

My first game, Currently Untitled, is a wild and chaotic action-adventure FPS that blends the explosive unpredictability of roguelikes with the crunchy combat of classic shooters. Think “Diablo with guns, a new perspective, and space opera-esque lore.” You’ll tear through procedurally-generated levels, flex your drip, and chase clout like your digital life depends on it. Technically, strategy exists but it’s more of a suggestion than a requirement. Movement is fluid, combat is fast, and most things explode with suspicious enthusiasm.

This isn’t a power fantasy, it’s an unapologetic POWER MOVE.

🧠 Why I’m Doing This

Because I’ve worked in systems that care more about monetization than meaning, where “player engagement” is just code for “how long can we milk them before they uninstall.” AAA has forgotten how to have fun. It’s all about retention curves and artificial scarcity now. I want to build something with a soul, even if that soul is stitched together from rage, caffeine, and a bad decisions.

And because if I’m going to fail, I want to fail loud. Like “airhorn in a library” loud.

📢 What You Can Expect Here

waiting for something big to arrive
Ready and waiting!

This isn’t so much a blog as it is part dev log, part postmortem, and part public therapy session. I’ll talk about the wins that feel like miracles, the bugs that defy the laws of physics, and the design decisions that age like milk. When something works, I’ll break it down. When something breaks, I’ll probably break down.

You’ll get the real stuff: the pain, the panic, and the occasional pixel-perfect moment of joy. Expect rants, revelations, and maybe even some code snippets that aren’t terrible. If I spend three days animating a hat no one notices, you’ll hear about it. And if something explodes in a good way, I’ll make damn sure you know.

No filters. No corporate gloss. Just the good, the bad, and the fugly mostly fugly.

🏁 The Road Ahead

So if you’re into games with personality, development with chaos, and blogs that occasionally read like fever dreams—you’re in the right place.

Let’s build something stupidly fun.
